Descrição

This course draws from 10 years of coaching experience, guiding the adoption and adaption of agile methods in large and small companies around the world. The course is highly interactive and covers a wide range of material: building community, working with people, teaching practices, fostering transparency, growing collaboration and more. Participants will be challenged to engage in one on one as well as group activities for various aspects of coaching, teaching and leading.

This course is great for newly named coaches, certified scrum masters, managers, technical leads, or anyone who want to introduce or improve their use of agile methods and learn how to teach other to do so.

  • Tools for selecting practices that quickly show value and grow value based agility
  • Practices for growing and defining common vision
  • Ideas for guiding product planning and product road mapping
  • Creating collaborative and informative work spaces
  • Leading and improving planning sessions
  • Tools for guiding and growing agility in development (e.g. test driven)
  • Ideas for promoting and maintaining continuous learning
  • Using agile methods to promote value beyond one project or community
  • A collection of indicators and monitors useful in promoting sustainable agility

Conteúdo programático (o que vamos fazer)

  • Introductions, logistics and expectations
  • Examine various aspect of coaching; teaching, guiding, serving, story telling
  • Initial creation of a coaching persona: who will you be while coaching?
  • Pre-production (coaching work that improves you early and iteratively producing product)
  • Finding A Groove (coaching that happens in the early iterations and focuses on suing agility as a tool to produce product and community)
  • Interactive exercises around core coaching skills like growing collaboration, increasing transparency, fostering courage and learning from or reframing failure
  • Keeping the Band Together (coaching that sustains community bonds during after the early iterations when adversity and change challenge how and how often your delivery.

Instrutor

David Hussman leads DevJam, a Minneapolis based company composed of agile collaborators working in the US, Europe and beyond. As mentors and practitioners, DevJam focuses on using agile methods to help people and companies improve their software production skills. DevJam provides seasoned leaders that strive to pragmatically match technology, people, and processes in a way which produce software that makes people happier and more productive.

Along with coaching and presenting / leading workshops / tutorials at conferences in the U.S. and Europe, David has contributed to several books (“Managing Agile Projects” and “Agile in the Large”), worked on agile curriculum for The University of Minnesota and Capella University, and is currently writing a book for the Pragmatic Programmer series.
